The process of applying to graduate school was almost as bad as how long I had to wait before I heard back from anyone.
But today, I am happy to share that I will be attending North Carolina State University to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work.
I submitted my first graduate school application on November 30th, and my last on January 18th. And it took until mid-March to receive any sign of life beyond my confirmation of submission.
So in just a few short weeks I will begin my first summer class for the social work program and start commuting from Durham to Raleigh. To add to my excitement about my graduate studies, I am also considering applying for a dual degree in my second year of the MSW to include a JD from Campbell Law School (more on this soon).
Now, I must trade my Carolina blue in for NC State red, but they don’t call it that apparently. I gotta say, I never thought I’d be attending UNC-Raleigh, but I can’t wait to see what these next two (or four) years have in store for me.
Though my academics have led me to join the Pack, I will always be a Carolina girl; born, bred, and dead!
